Another Call Sheet

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 2:15 pm

So I like to save and collect the call sheets from the big productions I work on. There is something exciting about seeing my name on the same list as big time actors. I have posted an image here of my latest call sheet. The other sheets I have saved are here and here.

More movies on the way to Boston

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 9:14 pm

My friend Chuck Slavin let me know about these movies that may be coming to Boston soon.

Prince of Thieves

The Fighter

Hickory Nation

Until Gwen

Prince of Providence

Sexual Healing

Deal

The Three Stooges

Untitled Hapenny Project

The Wyeth Project

Christmas at Castlebury Hall

5:10 to Cooperstown

Cynara

I did hear a rumor that there will be a short pause in production everywhere while SAG decides whether to strike or not in June. No producers want to schedule a movie for production and then have a strike right in the middle of shooting. I am hoping that SAG comes to a quick agreement with the production companies so we can get shooting this stuff!

Fun day on the set!

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 8:40 pm

I had a great day on the set of Ricky Gervais’s “This Side of the Truth“. I was in two scenes, and both were filmed today which means sadly I am all done for this film. This was a great opportunity for me because Ricky Gervais is very up and coming and I think he will be a household name after this movie — if he is not already. The exposure potential for me is great because my scenes were both with Ricky (the star). Also one of my scenes takes place in the beginning of the movie and the other scene takes place right near the end — great placement. I got great compliments from Ricky and the rest of the crew. When I did my comedy bits everyone laughed, and the crowd that had started to show up were all smiling and laughing at our scene. This bodes well!

I did not take many pictures but here is what I got.

I am in Shock!

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 4:17 pm

Wow. So in my last post I mentioned how I auditioned for the movie “This Side of the Truth“, starring Ricky Gervais and Jennifer Garner. What I did not mention was that I was really bummed out about it. I thought I bombed! I felt crappy for a week thinking I blew that audition. And then 28 days later I get a call! I got the part! I will be playing “The Yelling Man”, a small speaking role with 2 scenes. I am pretty damned excited! This will be my 3rd speaking role in a big budget production. I am hoping soon I will have enough of these on my resume to get an agent.

Long Time.. No post..

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 4:38 pm

Well, I am a bad blogger! It has been almost a month since my last post. I guess the reason I have not been posting is that I have been kind of bummed out about not getting that Ashecliff role. I did not pay attention to my own advice — Fire and Forget! I am over it now and ready to move on. The fact that I just had another audition yesterday has put me in a better mood. The audition was for a movie called “This Side of Truth” that was written by “Extras” star Ricky Gervais. He will also be directing and starring in this movie as well. Wish me luck! So the bad news is I have had 2 other auditions this year and have not received any parts. The goods news is that I have had 3 auditions in 3 months! That is pretty amazing for this town. Last year I only had 3 auditions all year –and I got two out of three. These auditions I speak of are for big films. It is easy to find auditions for the low budget indie films. By the way if you want to know how to find auditions for low budget films in the Boston area, email me and I can set you up. Big budget auditions is a whole other story, very hard to get.
