Another new trailer!

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 5:02 pm

Hey, its been a banner couple of weeks for trailers of movies I have worked in. This new trailer is for the movie “The Miskatonic Acid Test”. This movie is really cool, it is a horror movie that takes place in 1969 during the psychedelic music craze. It is like the Blair Witch Project meets Woodstock the documentary. Here is the official blurb from the website:

In 1969 a group of students at Miskatonic University in witch-haunted Arkham, Massachusetts decided to emulate the West Coast and put on their own sort of “happening”, where “music and atmosphere could combine to create an alteration of consciousness”, with the clandestine help of a little LSD. Or maybe a lot. However, it is said that one should be very careful when experimenting with the nether regions of consciousness, particularly when one’s psychedelic event is occurring under the watchful eye of a philosophy professor who specializes in the study of Evil, and most particularly when that selfsame professor has access to the darker realms of the Miskatonic University library, where reside ancient tomes that should never be read under any circumstances, especially not aloud, and especially not in front of a crowd, and most especially not in front of a crowd that is under the effects of mind-altering drugs…

I am a huge fan of the writings of H.P. Lovecraft from which this movie is inspired. Also, I am a huge fan of the 60’s psychedelic culture and music, so this movie was perfect for me. I had heard about this movie after it had already been cast and after production had already started. I was bummed about that but figured I would try to be involved anyway. So I emailed the director and practically begged him to give me at the very least a small cameo role. I explained to him how this movie brings together two very cool subjects I love, and that it would be the coolest thing ever to be on in it. He agreed and did me one better than I had hoped; he allowed me to be the man who introduces the movie, very much like Criswell did for Ed Wood, and William Castle and Alfred Hitchcock did for them selves. You know like “This movie you are about to see…” type of stuff; you can see like 1 second of itin the trailer. I am looking forward to seeing the whole thing on the big screen.
