Underground Trailer!

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 8:35 pm

There is new trailer for the movie Underground.

This is a film I acted in last summer. The film is like %75 done and the shooting of the final scenes will start this month. This movie is a martial arts action movie about a young man whose life becomes very challenging after a fire kills his parents. He has to take care of his siblings and in an attempt to get some money he enters himself into an illegal fight ring. I play the comic relief character of an inept cop who goes undercover as a gangsta rapper to take down the ring. After a few false starts and misunderstandings I end up joining forces with the young man in an attempt to take down the leader of the ring. I am in the trailer for only a second or two; see if you can spot me. This movie was very fun because it was the first time I had ever done a choreographed fight scene. The lead character kicks my ass the first time we meet.

‘Tis all for now.

  4. […] So, I was on this film shoot this Sunday and I almost knocked my self out. Here is the story. We were filming the movie Underground all day. The last scene of the day was around 9:30pm just after a short thunderstorm. We were filming in this alley in Central Square, Cambridge, MA. So the scene is that myself, an inept undercover cop posing as a gangsta rapper, and my inept criminal gang member accost the main lead of the movie. The scene is about 3-4 minutes long and it is where the main lead kicks are ass and gets the info he needs. We are on the third take, and the director decides to do it as one long take using a hand held camera to give it that gritty street feel. So not unlike theater, we must get through it with out stopping. So we are in the middle of the scene and all is going well. There are some on-lookers there who had heard us and stopped to watch. The main character shoves, me and I spin and go flying, but unknown to me we had shifted somewhat and right behind me was a huge metal post. Blam! I face plant right on the post. I stagger backwards, and am reeling in pain. Real Pain!! I spin around holding my head, my vision blurry, and I see the main lead finishing the other actor and he turns to get the info from me. My, the show must go on, instinct kicks in and I finish the scene. The director yells cut, and our little growing group of on-lookers applauds; I yell owwwww!!!!! Which I had been wanting to do since I hit the post. I am laughing and cursing, and everyone in the cast and crew where wondering what was so funny and why I was still holding my head. I tell them to watch the scene again on the monitor. We do, and, oh man, it is funny! It looks like The Three Stooges! Blam!!!! stagger, stagger, reel, almost fall over. Best acting I have ever done. Today I have a lump on my forehead the size of Texas. […]
