Fangoria writes about Seepage!

Filed under: Acting Journey — Don @ 2:31 pm

Seepage! This summer I was very fortunate in getting a small role in a movie called “Seepage!” I got my role in this movie by way of an excellent actor named William DeCoff who I met two years ago on the set of a movie called “Liar” and who has since become my friend as well as a colleague. He told Seepage! director Richard Griffin about me, and asked that I be given a chance to show my stuff in this new movie. William had worked for Richard before and is one of the leads in this movie. Richard than told me I would get a small part in this movie, and if he liked what I did it would lead to bigger and better roles in his future movies. I was very excited about this because Richard’s movies are not only great, they also get distributed world wide by places like Amazon.com, Block Buster Video and NetFlix. I must admit I would find it pretty damn sweet to walk down to the local Block Buster store and rent myself or order myself on NetFlix. Anyhow, this new movie Seepage! is now starting to get some press, and is in the final negotiations for world wide DVD release. Fangoria.com a well known on-line and off-line magazine has written an article about the new project and you can find it here: http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=5499

The coolest thing of all, is that Richard did like my stuff and asked me back for bigger and better roles in his next two movies. Woo Hoo!

‘Tis all for now!

  1. Wow. That would be such a surreal experience to “rent yourself” at the movie store.

Congrats on the director liking you enough to want you to work on more films with him. That’s absolutely fantastic!!!

And yes, I’m taking Meisner classes. My coach had the wonderful opportunity of studying with Sanford Meisner himself for a number of years.

  5. Congrats on the role, and all the upcoming roles it looks like it may bring. Having a connection is definitely a plus in this business.

  7. That’s really cool you got to work on something you loved & with people you enjoyed. It seems the happiest people are those who are following their hearts desires. You seem to be doing exactly that.
I hope the next 2 parts end up being just as enjoyable for you.

  8. […] 4) Always be professional no matter how lousy the conditions are, and even if the director and crew seem inept, stay professional. Word gets around, and that nervous unconfident director may be the next Peter Jackson ten years from now, and having him remember you as a positive thing in his early life is a good thing, he may just bring you along for the ride. Also, he may recommend you to other directors who are really good. And also the film community is very small so if you act like a diva and complain and are difficult other directors may be steered away from you. Also you can get gigs through other actors, so if you are a pain in the behind, you may not get recommend from them either. I have two (1 and 2) real example of me getting gigs twice through other actors who liked to work with me and found me professional. […]

  9. […] This weekend I went down to Long Island again to the set of “The Dysfunctional Bookclub“. I become involved in this film because a director I have worked with in the past was hired to direct this film. His name is Richard Griffin, and I have mentioned him here, here and here. Anyway, when he found out it was a union film, a SAG ultra low to be exact, he asked that my acting buddy William DeCoff and I be cast in the film also. The writer/producer Jennifer Scharf agreed and William I each got a role in the film. I had already shot my scene a couple of weeks ago, and it was William’s turn this weekend. He asked if I wanted to go down with him to hang out on the set, and to shoot the shit on the ride down and back. So I agreed, and we went down this Saturday to film his scene. So we had a blast on the ride down, and when we got there, they had figured out a way that would make sense in the story for me to be in the scene also! So I got to act in the scene with my friend and just have fun hanging out. The scene was hysterically funny, and I had such a great relaxing fun time acting, with no stress or worries. This really helped me get back in touch with why I do this in the first place — acting is just damn fun! Sometimes on the bigger sets like ‘Chatham‘ and ‘Brotherhood‘ the stress and the desire to “get to the next level” can make me loose touch with that fact. Anyway, it was just a great day to have fun acting and hanging out with good friends. […]
