Reconnecting with what matters!
This weekend I went down to Long Island again to the set of “The Dysfunctional Bookclub“. I become involved in this film because a director I have worked with in the past was hired to direct this film. His name is Richard Griffin, and I have mentioned him here, here and here. Anyway, when he found out it was a union film, a SAG ultra low to be exact, he asked that my acting buddy William DeCoff and I be cast in the film also. The writer/producer Jennifer Scharf agreed and William I each got a role in the film. I had already shot my scene a couple of weeks ago, and it was William’s turn this weekend. He asked if I wanted to go down with him to hang out on the set, and to shoot the shit on the ride down and back. So I agreed, and we went down this Saturday (June 23rd, 2007) to film his scene. So we had a blast on the ride down, and when we got there, they had figured out a way that would make sense in the story for me to be in the scene also! So I got to act in the scene with my friend and just have fun hanging out. The scene was hysterically funny, and I had such a great relaxing fun time acting, with no stress or worries. This really helped me get back in touch with why I do this in the first place — acting is just damn fun! Sometimes on the bigger sets like ‘Chatham‘ and ‘Brotherhood‘ the stress and the desire to “get to the next level” can make me loose touch with that fact. Anyway, it was just a great day to have fun acting and hanging out with good friends.
Having fun on the set!
‘Tis all for now!
We definitely can’t lose sight of the fact that we do this because we love it. Work hard, push yourself, but HAVE FUN! Glad you’re ‘keeping it real’.
I can’t believe I said that.

Thanks Ricardo! That was a great day! You know I have worn that camel hair jacket in like 4 movies now. It was given to me during the filming a movie that actually never finished. But since then I got a lot of use out of it.
